wat a sad news, to know about sum1 i know about even juz for 10mins or so has... passed away.
it was back at Isetan, KLCC, when i was working for Delsey during their promotion sales (in between november-december 2007) right in front of the 1st floor 'goin down' escalator.
i still remember her wearing her motherly smile, which will gif most of us youngster a boost of confidence, approached me with her husband, who is a chinese, saying that they need a new suit case and their current one is very old.
trying to sell my product, i approached her with a smile in return.
upon answering my question, "of what sorts of bag are you looking for, ma'am?" very fluent cantonese without any flaw, i thought that she's a chinese, who's very supportive of being a Malaysian cause she's wearing baju kurung. (since very seldom do i see chinese female wearing a baju kurung, unless its compulsory for their work or school uniform)
not until she jokes with me halfway after i talked a lot trying to promote my goods, saying that she would like to introduce her daughter to me, i do not know that she's a malay.
to my curiousity, i really did ask her, my customer, whether is she a malay or chinese.
she laughed at my question and start telling me, a complete stranger who has just known her for few minutes, her story about her marriage.
she was once married to a malay man and now a chinese man. therefore the reason she can speak fluent cantonese is thanks to her current husband. (she even joked about getting married to an indian man to learn tamil)
finally, i managed to talked her into getting a luggage with lots of pocket, which she think its interesting- 1 pocket for sandals/shoes, 1 pocket for toiletries, 1 pocket for accesories that might come in handy.
after paying at the cashier counter, she is still smiling and she even wave goodbye to me, before continuing her journey with her husband down the escalator. and that is the first and last time i see her face to face in real life.
and the funny thing was, she is so friendly that we are like making friends instead of trying to do business.
